    Full of crap. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to escape this infamous tagline that appears to be literally everywhere. Not only has it made its way to my Hotmail inbox but also in my default webpage, Cebu Pacific’s online booking website. These words are even plastered in every nook and cranny of Makati’s CBD underpasses. Get the picture?

    How would you feel if you were able to get your career-frustrated, unemployed-since-out-of-college, chillax friend a job at the Company you’ve been aspiring to work for?.. but not yourself?

    A Scarce Commodity

    “The problem is that in today's economy, any job, even one that's less than ideal, is a scarce commodity.”

    I come out with this line whenever I get the recurrently Why question during job interviews. Thanks to Kate Burns, who couldn’t have expressed it any better on her published article featured on Yahoo entitled “Why Job Hunters Should 'Settle' for a Less-Than-Dream Job”‏.

    It was November 2010 when I came across this article, the same month I officially filed my resignation letter. My former imperious employer (I will now call XXX IT) required 60 calendar days notice, which made it nearly impossible to apply for a job within that 2-month period considering my schedule. Exam/interview appointments are normally arranged in the morning and since I was on graveyard, I could either grace potential employers with my zombie-ish presence or take a planned leave, which apparently is something that XXX IT did not allow when you’re a resignee. *surprise* Read: not stated in the contract.

    It is a Corporate Jungle

    Hello there, nonexistent reader! :)

    You would be surprised to find out how long I’ve been meaning to put up this blog, a venue where I can vent out share my experiences since I began to explore the corporate jungle of my third world motherland.

    I recall drafting the sequence of the entries that would gradually unfold the story of my first working experience but I never found the time due to my graveyard working shift. Waking up to report for work and going home to sleep in a completely reversed timezone has been my only routine for over a year. I didn't even get the chance to drop by the mall after work, spend TGIF nights with friends or bond with my family! I really missed a lot and it literally sucked the life out of me.

    But guess what? The graveyard shift isn’t the only factor I felt so restrained in my previous job.. and that’s what I am gonna continue blogging about in the days to come.

    So im gonna leave you with this quote from some wise man:

    “Working at a job you don’t like
    is a lame way to spend a good portion of your life.”
